Welcome to the City of Ravenna. We are very proud of our City and we invite you to explore our web site and discover a small sampling of what Ravenna has to offer.

The County seat of Portage County, Ravenna is very much "Main Street, USA". Founded in 1799 and developed throughout the 1800s, Ravenna is a wonderful blend of 1800s architecture, century homes, and modern housing and industry. Our downtown area is full of nostalgia, reminiscent of a time when Main Street was a place where people would congregate, converse, and do business.

Whether you're looking to relocate your family, or you're looking for a new location for your business, Ravenna is definitely worth considering. Please visit us and learn what our residents already know... Ravenna is a great place to live, work and play.

Theater Project Breaks Ground!

Work begins on Ravenna Theater !

Posted Thursday, September 7, 2017

After many months of planning, Officials from NDS and the City of Ravenna officially broke ground on the Ravenna Theater project.  The theater, being built on the site of the old Paul's Do-It Hardware store at Chestnut and Cedar, is targeted to open some time in the Spring of 2018.  The theater is a centerpiece of efforts to revitalize the historic downtown area and will house seven screens when it opens.  Site improvements to the west of the location will allow for parking and green space.  A lot of work went into the project and officials and residents alike are excited to see it finally come to fruition.  Below are some photos from the ground breaking ceremony which featured some well known big screen icons who happened to be in town for the event!
