Welcome to the City of Ravenna. We are very proud of our City and we invite you to explore our web site and discover a small sampling of what Ravenna has to offer.

The County seat of Portage County, Ravenna is very much "Main Street, USA". Founded in 1799 and developed throughout the 1800s, Ravenna is a wonderful blend of 1800s architecture, century homes, and modern housing and industry. Our downtown area is full of nostalgia, reminiscent of a time when Main Street was a place where people would congregate, converse, and do business.

Whether you're looking to relocate your family, or you're looking for a new location for your business, Ravenna is definitely worth considering. Please visit us and learn what our residents already know... Ravenna is a great place to live, work and play.

Officers promoted to Sergeant

On January 12 at 10:00 a.m., Mayor Seman swore in David Firtik, Andrew Wert and Charles Holloway as the newest Sergeants of the Ravenna Police Department at Ravenna City Hall. In attendance were family members, friends and several members of the Department.

Over the years I have watched each of them grow individually and professionally. I look forward to getting to watch them grow and develop as leaders in the future.

Congratulations to all three of them!

MARCS Radio Donation
The MARCS System portable 2-way radios generously donated to The Ravenna Police Department by The Ohio Turnpike Commission will have a welcome and significant impact on our communications capabilities. Our police department manages The City of Ravenna Communications Dispatch Center serving not only The City of Ravenna Safety Services, but also 8 other fire/EMS departments.

In the interest of communications interoperability and the improved reliability of the MARCS System, we anticipate the distribution of the MARCS portable 2-way radios to immediately enhance our operations.

We are deeply grateful to The Ohio Turnpike Commission for the 2-way radio equipment they provided. As we make improvements to our communications center, this donation moves us much closer to our interoperability goals.

Thank you Ohio Turnpike Commission!
