The Ravenna Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing a variety of safe, affordable, entertaining and educational activities as well as creating and preserving facilities which will enhance the quality of life for our community members, now and for future generations that follow.

Diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, osteoporosis, depression, obesity, cancer, arthritis... the list goes on; a list that can be significantly improved or totally prevented through a healthier lifestyle that includes regular exercise. Everyday we hear the stats, yet everyday many of us choose to ignore them.  We can't begin to relay how great it feels to actually hear from a participant that they have improved their health in some way. We hear, on a regular basis, how participation has lowered cholesterol, improved bone density, eliminated dependency on medication, or just reduced their weight. The participant is delighted and so are we! Please join us and make this the healthiest year ever!

Annual Easter Eggstravaganza and Touch-a-Truck

                 Our Services

You are invited to attend Ravenna's 29th Annual Easter Eggstravaganza at John Tontimonia City Park on Oakwood Street. The event is co-sponsored by Ravenna Parks and Recreation and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Ohio, Inc. Make our Eggstravaganza an annual spring tradition in your family. Bring your children, grandparents, uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews to a guaranteed great beginning to the festive weekend of Easter. Game booths will be available for children to try their luck for prizes. Tickets will be available to purchase for the game booths. Around 10:15 a.m. a very special visitor will arrive to get us all in the egg hunt spirit. Eggs will be filled with candy and contain special prize tickets. Be sure to bring a bag, basket or container for the candy you find in your eggs. This annual event is held rain, snow, or shine. We hope to see you there!

Egg Hunt Times and Ages:

10:15 a.m.        1 - 18 years with disabilities

11:00 a.m.        1 - 2 years with parents

11:00 a.m.        1 - 2 years without parents

11:10 a.m.        7 - 8 years

11:20 a.m.        9 - 10 years

11:30 a.m.        3 - 4 years

11:40 a.m.        5 - 6 years

Touch-a-Truck
While you are at the Easter Eggstravaganza be sure to stop by to get a close look at the City of Ravenna vehicles and equipment     purchased by your tax dollars and used by city employees. The 8th annual Touch-a-Truck is what every boy and girl loves to see - fire trucks, a police car and big trucks. City employees will be on hand to answer your questions regarding the various pieces of equipment and vehicles.

Shooting Stars Soccer

SHOOTING  STARS  SOCCER

This program is for children ages 3 and 4 who want to learn about the game of soccer in an age appropriate fun atmosphere.  Parent/Adult is required to participate.  Held on Saturdays beginning April 22, with 4 times to choose from.
